This August, the Theatre Royal is presenting two outstanding First Nations works, The Visitors and The Box.
Jane Harrison’s The Visitors has had rave reviews and was awarded Best Mainstage Production at the 2023 Sydney Theatre Awards. Produced by Moogahlin Performing Arts and Sydney Theatre Company, and directed by Wesley Enoch, this entertaining and thought-provoking work asks a timeless question of who we welcome onto our land. The Visitors will be presented in The Theatre Royal from 1-3 August.
The Box by acclaimed Palawa playwright Nathan Maynard and Murri-born Nipaluna-raised artist Rob Braslin is a comedic and profoundly moving theatre experience, uncovering the painful truths and actions that define one family’s existence inside a government experiment. Produced by Mudlark Theatre Company The Box will be presented in the Studio Theatre from 7 - 8 August.
