Euphrasia in Concert: Music by Mia Palencia

Fri 2 Aug 2024 1:00 pm
Ian Potter Recital Hall at The Hedberg

In 2018, Mia Palencia was commissioned to compose the music for a new musical, Euphrasia. It tells the true-life story of Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, from a mischievous girl growing up in the aftermath of the French Revolution to a woman with audacious ideas for improving the lives of countless women and children. Mary Euphrasia's aspirations and mission live on today, empowering lives, promoting rights, and upholding the dignity of women, girls, and children in 72 countries across the world.

This special concert will feature selected pieces from the original show, under the musical direction of Andrew Morrisby and performed by a cast of incredible Tasmanian singers, including:

  • Nicole Simms-Farrow
  • Martine Holliday
  • Lisa Crosato
