Hailed by The Australian as ‘the real deal’ for the future of Australian chamber music, this youthful and energetic quartet has established a formidable international reputation since its formation in Brisbane in 2007. Quartet-in-Residence for the seventh year with Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, Orava tours regularly in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Asia in major venues and festivals, often collaborating with prominent musicians such as Mahan Esfahani, Takacs Quartet, Piers Lane, Karin Schaupp and William Barton. It is the first Australian string quartet invited to sign with Universal Music, with its debut album released on Deutsche Grammophon.
