The Song Company is Australia’s leading professional vocal ensemble. Led by world-leading creative artists, the company has a proud tradition of fostering the careers of the nation’s most exciting vocal performers. Since its beginnings in 1984 it has captivated audiences with exquisite performances of vocal work ranging from the 10th century to contemporary compositions. Every project the Song Company undertakes is underwritten by its unwavering commitment to excellence and to the transcendent and transformative beauty of the human voice.

The company has a rich history of delivering exceptional vocal performances, ranging from early music from the 13th -16th Centuries, to an astounding catalogue of contemporary compositions by Australian composers. The ensemble’s dedication to fostering the careers of the nation’s most promising vocal performers has led to a proud tradition of delivering exquisite vocal works through high-quality performances. It is committed to creating sustainable careers for the country’s top vocal artists by offering innovative repertoire that engages and enriches audiences across the nation. Its artist development programs, workshops, and comprehensive training opportunities provide a platform for young Australian singers to develop their skills and launch successful careers in the industry.

The Song Company also promotes cultural diversity and artistic expression, commissioning new works that showcase imaginative and theatrical sound. The company has a proud history of commissioning works by female composers, Indigenous performers, and creative artists from diverse backgrounds. The ensemble’s collaborations with leading Australian performing ensembles, cultural institutions, universities, and community groups also allow it to produce culturally diverse art that inspires and transforms.
