Introducing the first ever free one day forum celebrating animation from Lutruwita/Tasmania and around the world.  

Watch films, attend talks, or celebrate the entries in the Move Me student animation competition.  


Procreate Dreams Workshop in the Vanessa Goodwin Room, Theatre Royal     
Workshop – 11am to 12.30 noon

Introduction to Procreate Dreams sponsored by Procreate

Learn to animate using the award-winning iPad App Procreate Dreams. This workshop is open to both spectators and participants with their own iPad.

Theatre Royal Studio Sessions  

Session 1
1.30pm to 2.30pm
Move Me Competition Screening and Judges Q&A (1hr)  
Unclassified. Under 15s must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.  

Discover the competition winners and celebrate the work of animation students from around the state. The session will include a Q&A with animation professionals talking about their work.  

2.30pm Short Break (15mins)

2.45pm to 3.45pm
Lutruwita Animation Festival Introduction
Little J and Big Cuz Screening and Q&A with Tony Thorne (1hr)

Director and designer Tony Thorne presents a newly released episode and a behind the scenes look at the groundbreaking NITV / ABC series, winner of the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Children's Program.

Panorama: Animated Short Films Made in Tas (1hr)  
Unclassified. Under 15s must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.  

Explore the diverse films of animators working in Tasmania.

Feature Film Screening – The Secret Kingdom (2hrs)  
Rated PG

Peter, an anxious twelve-year-old, and his sister, Verity, find themselves in a strange, new world when the floor of their bedroom breaks away. Now, Peter must summon his courage when an ancient prophecy believes him to be the vanquisher of an ancient evil enveloping this secret kingdom.

This cinematic adventure, animated in Launceston, will inspire animators young and old.
